![]() Every Thursday, after lunch, the well fed band, the 'Assortments', volunteer to play the dance music as part of the Adult Day Activity Program. At this event, the guest maestro, Herschel Haaf, eagerly took his white baton to lead the band through the polka, as Don Giovanoni responded with his Base Banjo and Jim Stewart beat the rhythm on the Drums. Jan Kessner squeezed the Accordion as Dion Dixon tickled the Wash Board. The band also plays for birthday celebrations in the Dinning Room on the last Friday of the month. The Redwood Coast Seniors could not operate with out the support of the many volunteers who offer their services, in all areas of the program, for a few hours each week or on a project basis. At the present time this adds up to an extra seven full time employees. At the minimum wage with benefits, this amounts to an extra service that would have cost the Center more than $110,000 per year. To be a part of this program Contact Diane Taylor |
